The Journey Here
What motivated you to start working at TAIMATSU?
I was interested in the opportunity to work closely with the business side while using technology to improve real operations. Rather than only building systems based on fixed requirements, I felt TAIMATSU would give me the chance to understand actual business challenges, discuss them with different teams, and help turn those ideas into practical solutions. I was also excited by the opportunity to work with a global team. Being able to collaborate across different backgrounds and perspectives was one of the things that made the role especially appealing to me.
Life at Taimatsu
What is the most memorable experience you have had in this job?

One of the most memorable experiences has been working with the Product team to discuss actual business issues and think through possible improvements together. It reminded me that development is not only about implementation, but also about understanding what is truly needed and how the solution will be used in practice.

What Surprised Me
In what ways do you feel you have grown the most through your work?
I feel that I have become more conscious of looking at problems from both a technical and operational perspective. Instead of only thinking about how to build something, I try to consider how it fits into the overall workflow, who will use it, and whether it will actually make the process easier. There are many projects and challenges to work on, which can be demanding, but it also means there are many opportunities to take ownership and initiative. I feel that this environment has helped me become more proactive in identifying what needs to be done and thinking about how to move things forward.
Beyond the Role
What experience are you most proud of?

I am proud to be involved in organizing complex product and operational data in a way that can support future improvements. Even when the work is detailed and behind the scenes, I find it rewarding when it creates a foundation that makes future development and operations smoother. It is also encouraging when other teams express appreciation for the support I provide, especially when a tool, process, or improvement helps streamline their work and makes their day-to-day tasks easier.
If You're Thinking of Joining
What message would you like to share with people considering joining the company?

TAIMATSU is an environment where you can be involved in real business challenges and think through solutions together with others. There are opportunities to contribute ideas, learn through practical work, and see how technology can directly support the business. For people who want to use technology close to real operations and improve workflows, I think it can be a very interesting place to work.

About you
Could you tell us about your background and where you are from?
I am from the United States and currently live and work in Japan. My background is mainly in web development, internal systems, and process improvement. At TAIMATSU, I am involved in development related to DX, business improvement, and operational efficiency.
Outside the work
What do you enjoy doing outside of work, and do you have any favorite places you often visit?

Outside of work, I enjoy going to Japanese idol live events around Tokyo. I also play the Pokémon Trading Card Game from time to time and sometimes join local events. The areas I visit most often are Shinjuku and Ikebukuro, mainly for events, card shops, and other hobbies. Odaiba is another place I really like — I do not go there as often, but I associate it with some of the most exciting events and memories I have had in Tokyo.
