The Journey Here
What motivated you to start working at TAIMATSU?
After returning to Japan from studying abroad, I wanted to work in a multinational environment where I could utilize my language skills. I was deeply drawn to TAIMATSU’s vision of preserving and passing on traditions. I decided to join because I wanted to share the unique essence of Japan not only with domestic audiences but also with the world.
Life at Taimatsu
What is the most memorable experience you have had in this job?

Traveling to Kyoto just three months after joining the company to help open a new store was truly memorable. We actually painted the walls ourselves! It was a rewarding experience to contribute with my own hands and create that unique, handmade texture that sets our shops apart.

What Surprised Me
In what ways do you feel you have grown the most through your work?
I’ve significantly improved my schedule management and coordination skills with various vendors. Operating in regions with strict opening regulations — handling community board meetings, health department filings, and city hall approvals — taught me how to work backward from a deadline to minimize delays. This challenging environment has truly made me a professional.
Beyond the Role
What experience are you most proud of?

I am most proud of helping open our store in Kanazawa’s historic Higashi Chaya District, which has even stricter guidelines than Kyoto. Thanks to our team’s incredible support, I was able to see the project through from securing the lease to the final opening.
If You're Thinking of Joining
What message would you like to share with people considering joining the company?

Our workplace is filled with people from diverse backgrounds, each with their own unique "weapon" or specialty. It’s a fast-paced, inspiring environment. If you want to grow dynamically and aren't afraid of a challenge, TAIMATSU is the best place to be.

About you
Could you tell us about your background and where you are from?
I am a Japanese-born returnee from China, and I also spent three years studying in Canada. This experience not only sharpened my English skills but also profoundly broadened my perspective through living in a diverse international environment.
Before joining the company, I worked in the anime and publishing industry, where I managed the production of merchandise and promotional materials.
Outside the work
What do you enjoy doing outside of work, and do you have any favorite places you often visit?

I enjoy watching K-dramas and anime, and I love outdoor activities that match the season — snowboarding in the winter and camping in the summer! I also motivate myself by taking an overseas trip once a year.
