What motivated you to start working at TAIMATSU?
As a foreign national, I was drawn to work at a rapidly growing brand with a cultural link to Japan. At TAIMATSU, we manufacture traditionally crafted knives and curated cultural experiences. Learning and sharing culture on a global scale via CRM and B2B appealed to me as a career path.
Life at Taimatsu
What is the most memorable experience you have had in this job?

I had an interesting opportunity to take part in a FUJI Japan Sharpening class that was broadcast on FUJI TV. While not a typical workday, it was certainly an interesting experience.

What Surprised Me
In what ways do you feel you have grown the most through your work?
Every day, I face challenges and opportunities. Through the constant push to exceed goals and develop new initiatives, I have honed my leadership skills and developed a more disciplined personality.
Beyond the Role
What experience are you most proud of?

I am proud to have taken part in the development of processes and systems that allow cross-divisional workflows to flow smoothly and support collaborative projects.

What message would you like to share with people considering joining the company?

Be excited to work in a diverse environment where Japanese and foreign nationals collaborate, and cultural crafts are the heart and soul of the work. Set goals and strive to achieve them. Be proactive and punctual, always.

About you
Could you tell us about your background and where you are from?
I am a half Australian/ Italian, born in Sydney, Australia. Before moving to Japan, I had a background working with Acne Studios and the University of Technology Sydney.
Outside the work
What do you enjoy doing outside of work, and do you have any favorite places you often visit?

I enjoy group picnics or spending time at the Sento. My hobbies are film photography, trying new Bars and cafes, and drinking with friends.
