The Journey Here
What motivated you to start working at TAIMATSU?
What motivated me to join TAIMATSU was a combination of timing and a strong desire to move from theoretical learning to practical experience. At that point, I already held a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology, had completed a two-year Japanese language program (JLPT N2), and had prior experience in a large e-commerce company in my home country. While studying web design in Kobe, I began to feel that I was not gaining enough real-world experience. I wanted to apply my skills in a practical environment and continue learning through hands-on work. TAIMATSU, as a fast-growing and forward-thinking startup, provided exactly that opportunity.
Life at Taimatsu
What is the most memorable experience you have had in this job?

One of the most memorable experiences has been collaborating with a backend engineer as a frontend engineer on the “Road to Shogun” campaign, as well as building operational processes for the ITTO restaurant business from the ground up. Although these projects were complex and challenging, they were also highly rewarding in terms of both results and business impact.

What Surprised Me
In what ways do you feel you have grown the most through your work?
Through my work at TAIMATSU, I have significantly developed my skills in business management, cross-functional communication, and end-to-end project execution. I have become more confident in engaging with stakeholders, proposing and testing ideas, and making decisions in uncertain situations. I have also strengthened my ability to think strategically — evaluating potential impact, scalability, and long-term value. This growth has allowed me to approach challenges with greater clarity and confidence.
Beyond the Role
What experience are you most proud of?

I am particularly proud of my involvement in projects such as the ITTO restaurant and Fuji Japan Experience, which are outside the traditional retail domain. These projects require building operational frameworks that not only support daily activities but also enable sustainable business growth. Being part of this process has been both challenging and highly rewarding.
If You're Thinking of Joining
What message would you like to share with people considering joining the company?

Working in a fast-paced startup environment requires resilience, adaptability, and a proactive mindset. If you are ready to take on challenges, learn continuously, and grow through both successes and setbacks, TAIMATSU offers a valuable environment for professional development.

About you
Could you tell us about your background and where you are from?
I am originally from Belarus and hold a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology. I completed an internship in a closed psychiatric facility, working with criminal cases, which provided valuable but demanding experience. At the same time, I gained experience in a large company working part-time as a Sales Professional in the Call Center Division, and later worked as a personal trainer for about a year. Due to my ability to communicate information visually, I transitioned into e-learning design, where I quickly progressed to a team lead position. Before moving to Japan, I was offered a department head role, which I declined in order to pursue international experience. After moving to Japan, I studied Japanese while working part-time as a restaurant hall staff member. This experience helped me better understand the structure and operations of the restaurant industry, which continues to be relevant in my current work. Currently, I work as a UX engineer, contributing not only to design and frontend development but also to business processes and analytics.
Outside the work
What do you enjoy doing outside of work, and do you have any favorite places you often visit?

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking and staying active. I also enjoy playing video games such as Dota 2, League of Legends, and Counter-Strike. In addition, I like working with my hands — building LEGO, Gunpla models, and 3D models. I am always interested in learning new skills and exploring new areas.
