What motivated you to start working at TAIMATSU?
I saw the job opening for an SNS manager, and that's what initially drew me in. I've always been deeply interested in the work of communicating the appeal of products through social media, and I felt this was an environment where I could leverage my creativity and experience while taking on new challenges. What's more, TAIMATSU fosters a culture of growth that cherishes its brand and values, and I wanted to grow alongside the team, which ultimately led to my decision to join.
Life at Taimatsu
What is the most memorable experience you have had in this job?
This is my experience of learning about kitchen knives from scratch. Initially, I had very little knowledge, but as I encountered the artisans' techniques, materials, and the beauty of the blades firsthand, I came to understand the profound depth of Japanese craftsmanship. Beyond just introducing products, the process of contemplating "why they are beautiful" and "what passion goes into their creation," and then sharing that with the world through social media, left a very strong impression on me.
Day to day
What does a typical day look like for you?

I’m starting the day by checking emails, reviewing social media performance, and planning the content schedule.

Later, I coordinate with team members regarding upcoming campaigns, content production, and marketing projects.

Lunch break.

After the break, I continue to work on the content for the SNS. Assist with content shoots and creative planning for upcoming campaigns.

Analyze social media performance and engagement metrics, prepare upcoming content, organize production schedules, and respond to community interactions and messages.

To wrap up my day, I confirm the progress of each project, organize upcoming tasks, and wrap up the day.
What Surprised Me
In what ways do you feel you have grown the most through your work?
I've grown to involve others in my work, rather than just completing tasks on my own. Previously, my focus was often limited to the immediate tasks at hand. Now, I feel I've gradually developed the ability to oversee the entire team, communicate effectively, and collaborate with others to bring a project to fruition.
Beyond the Role
What experience are you most proud of?
I haven't had a single experience yet that I can confidently call 'the best.' However, I find it rewarding to gradually take on new challenges in my daily work and see my capabilities grow. Moving forward, I hope to gain more experience and, someday, build a body of work I can be truly proud of.

Could you tell us about your background and where you are from?
Originally from China, I have been living in Japan for about 8 years. I have previous experience working in the apparel industry and have always been interested in work that conveys the appeal of people and brands. Currently, I am leveraging that experience to share the charm of Japanese culture and craftsmanship through social media.
Outside the work
What do you enjoy doing outside of work, and do you have any favorite places you often visit?
I enjoy walking and traveling. I love exploring unfamiliar towns, discovering cafes and scenery by chance, and these small, everyday discoveries often inspire me. When I travel, I particularly enjoy immersing myself in the unique atmosphere and culture of each destination.
