The Journey Here
What motivated you to start working at TAIMATSU?
One of the things that motivated me the most was the opportunity to work with Japanese handcrafted knives and learn more about the culture and craftsmanship behind them. I was also excited to join a team with people from many different countries and backgrounds.
Life at Taimatsu
What is the most memorable experience you have had in this job?

I still clearly remember my first trial day. I was nervous at first, but we quickly found a good connection as a team, and I immediately felt that it was a great match for me.

What Surprised Me
In what ways do you feel you have grown the most through your work?
I think I’ve grown the most in communication and adapting to fast-changing situations. Working in a dynamic environment taught me how to stay flexible and organized at the same time.
Beyond the Role
What experience are you most proud of?

I’m proud that in a very short period of time, I was able to improve my skills during one of our busiest periods, when there was a lot to manage and keep up with, even though I had only recently joined the company.
If You're Thinking of Joining
What message would you like to share with people considering joining the company?

There are many people here with different personalities and backgrounds, so it’s easy to find common ground and enjoy working together as a team.

About you
Could you tell us about your background and where you are from?
I’m originally from Ukraine. I moved abroad after the beginning of the war, and although I still don’t know where life will take me in the future, working at TAIMATSU has become a very interesting chapter of my life in Japan.
Outside the work
What do you enjoy doing outside of work, and do you have any favorite places you often visit?

Outside of work, I enjoy photography, going to the gym, and baking. I also enjoy spending time in nature, visiting parks, and walking around Yokohama.
