The Journey Here
What motivated you to start working at TAIMATSU?
Honestly, two things really caught my attention — the international vibe and the fact that the company is genuinely growing. As someone from Cambodia, I've always wanted to work somewhere that brings different cultures together. TAIMATSU felt like exactly that kind of place, so I thought, why not go for it?
Life at Taimatsu
What is the most memorable experience you have had in this job?

I've only been here about a month, so I'm still collecting memories! But honestly, the way everyone welcomed me from the very beginning really stuck with me. I didn't expect to feel so at home so quickly. That first week especially — it just felt right.

What Surprised Me
In what ways do you feel you have grown the most through your work?
I think the biggest growth for me has been learning to adapt on the fly. New country, new company, new everything — it pushes you to be flexible in ways you don't expect. I feel like I've already become more open-minded and a little braver than I was a month ago.
Beyond the Role
What experience are you most proud of?

Honestly? Just making the decision to come here and actually going through with it. Moving to a new country and starting fresh takes a lot of courage, and I'm proud of myself for taking that step. It hasn't been easy, but it's been absolutely worth it.
If You're Thinking of Joining
What message would you like to share with people considering joining the company?

Just go for it! If you're looking for an international environment where you can grow and be around motivated people, TAIMATSU is a really good fit. The team is warm, and the energy is positive. You won't regret it.

About you
Could you tell us about your background and where you are from?
I'm from Phnom Penh, Cambodia! It's a busy, energetic city, and I think growing up there gave me a pretty adaptable personality. I moved to Japan 10 years ago, and I'm still discovering new things every day — which I kind of love.
Outside the work
What do you enjoy doing outside of work, and do you have any favorite places you often visit?

Cooking and saunas are my two go-to things to unwind — pretty different from each other, but both amazing in their own way! On weekends, I like keeping things relaxed — grabbing a coffee at a café, wandering through a park, or hitting up the supermarket to find ingredients for whatever I want to cook next. I also love hanging out with friends when the timing works out. One of my favorite spots lately is the lawn area at Meiji Jingu — it's so peaceful and never too packed. After that, I'll usually pop into one of the cafés in Oku-Shibuya. It's become a bit of a weekend ritual for me.
