The Journey Here
What motivated you to start working at TAIMATSU?
“Craft” was the keyword that attracted me from the start, since I studied crafts at university. Working with people from different backgrounds and nationalities had also been a long-time dream of mine. I always wanted to work at a startup or a young company so I could experience the whole process of how a company grows and becomes well-known. The moment I found TAIMATSU, I immediately felt like, “This is it!!”
Life at Taimatsu
What is the most memorable experience you have had in this job?

Every experience so far has been memorable because everything is new and challenging. TAIMATSU is a place where I genuinely feel like I’m creating something, and that feels really rewarding.

What Surprised Me
In what ways do you feel you have grown the most through your work?
The moment I started thinking, “I’m so busy,” I realized that feeling actually reflected my abilities and skills. At the same time, it made me a little nervous because it meant I had to take on more responsibility. Also, whenever I’m assigned tasks that aren’t directly related to front-end development, I feel trusted and recognized as someone capable of handling more.
Beyond the Role
What experience are you most proud of?

During my first interview, I was told, “I want to work with you — I think we’d work really well together.” It’s not easy to find someone who shares the same values about work, design, and attention to detail, so I felt truly understood at that moment. I’m still happy to be seen that way today. Personally, I’m proud of every project I’ve built because there’s still an artist inside me who wants to bring meaningful and wonderful work into the world.
If You're Thinking of Joining
What message would you like to share with people considering joining the company?

If you enjoy challenges, personal growth, and working with people from different backgrounds, TAIMATSU is definitely a great place for you. Things move fast here, so if you’re the type of person who likes to “try first, think later” like me, you’ll fit right in.

About you
Could you tell us about your background and where you are from?
I’m from Taiwan. This is my fifth year in Japan and my second year working as an engineer. I studied craft and design at university and originally wanted to become an accessory designer, but I graduated during the pandemic, and things took a different direction. My first job was as a graphic designer in Taiwan. While thinking about how to improve myself and explore new opportunities, I received a scholarship to study at a Japanese language school about eight months after joining the company — that’s how I ended up in Japan. I became fascinated with front-end development because it combines visual design with problem-solving, and honestly, engineers get paid better too lol.
Outside the work
What do you enjoy doing outside of work, and do you have any favorite places you often visit?

I enjoy playing MapleStory in my free time — it’s a game I’ve loved since I was a kid. As for favorite places, there’s a bridge near my house where I like to sit, zone out for an hour, and enjoy the view. If I were in Taiwan, I’d probably spend more time at the sports center near my home because there’s a great archery range there, and archery is my favorite sport.
