The Path Here
Could you tell us about your career so far and why you decided to join TAIMATSU?
I joined TAIMATSU as an intern during the summer of my third year of university. I remember finding a job posting on the TAIMATSU website that overlapped with three areas I was originally interested in: "traditional crafts," "international business," and "data analysis," which I majored in at university. I applied for an interview without hesitation. Since then, I have been involved in a wide range of projects, including POS data and advertising data analysis, and DX-related work. I have been able to gain experience by challenging myself with diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Leading the Day
What kinds of decisions and responsibilities do you take on as a manager on a daily basis?

I work as a leader for DX and application development. In my daily work, I discuss application development projects with engineers and am responsible for determining direction, providing feedback, and conducting code reviews. I am also working on the DX and automation of time-consuming tasks within the company, and I plan and implement measures to improve operational efficiency.

View from Both Sides
What differences or insights have you noticed between on-site work and management?
I feel the biggest difference is managing the schedule while developing an overall project outlook, and providing feedback after understanding the progress of team members. In terms of app development, when I worked on-site, I was evaluated based on focusing on the assigned development tasks and delivering deliverables. Now, however, I'm expected to create deliverables as a team and connect them to sales and business results. Therefore, I constantly manage with the awareness of how to maximize each member's skills while connecting them to the overall team's results.
Defining Moments
What has been the most impactful project or decision you have been involved in?

I feel that the development project for the duty-free system "SAMURAI TAX" was the most impactful project I've been involved in so far. I worked on it while considering how to solve the pain points I actually experienced while operating our own duty-free store with a system. Also, a major challenge was how to proceed with development and prioritize within limited human resources. There were times when I almost gave up, but by always looking ahead, planning, and exploring many possibilities as I progressed through the project, I was able to overcome those challenges.
Growing as a Leader
What do you feel has been your greatest growth as a leader?

I feel that my greatest growth has been learning to delegate tasks to others. Before becoming a team leader, I approached my work with the mindset of "I have to do it myself" and "I have to work the hardest." However, since becoming a leader, I've come to realize the importance of assigning tasks while considering the growth of each team member and approaching projects as a team. Sometimes I felt anxious about delegating tasks to others, or thought, "Wouldn't it be faster if I did it myself?" Even so, by actually delegating, I was able to witness the growth of team members firsthand, and solutions that I wouldn't have thought of myself emerged in many situations. Through these experiences, I've come to realize that trusting and delegating to others significantly enhances the overall strength of the team. Therefore, now I focus not on achieving results alone, but on creating an environment where the entire team can produce greater results.

Looking Ahead
What challenges or goals would you like to take on at TAIMATSU in the future?
To deliver Japanese traditions to the world, I want to create "Japan's No. 1 group of engineers" and "Japan's No. 1 group of digital transformation (DX)." I believe that the use of technology is indispensable in creating a new economic sphere for traditional crafts. Therefore, I want to spread Japanese traditions to the world and deliver their value to more people by making maximum use of AI and IT. To achieve this, my major goal for the future is to create a group of engineers and DX professionals with high technical skills and a challenging spirit who can make a significant impact on society.
If You're Thinking of Joining
What message would you like to share with people considering joining the company?

TAIMATSU is a company that aims to make a social impact with speed. Because of this, there are new challenges and many changes every day, and it is by no means an easy environment. However, it is precisely because of this environment that I feel there are many opportunities for significant growth in a short period of time. I myself have experienced many challenges. Regardless of age or years of experience, the appeal of TAIMATSU lies in the fact that if you have the desire to "try something new," you can take on challenges with a great deal of autonomy. Furthermore, TAIMATSU has a clear vision: "to create a new economic sphere for traditional crafts." There are still no easy answers in this challenge, which is precisely why each individual's ideas and actions are so significant. For those who want to "grow themselves further," "share Japanese traditional crafts with the world," and "create new value through technology," this is a very rewarding environment. We would love to work with people who enjoy change, think and act independently, and want to take on big challenges together as a team. We look forward to hearing from you.
Beyond the Role
Could you tell us about your background and where you are from?

I'm from Ome City, Tokyo, and for 13 years, from kindergarten, I was a soccer enthusiast. I attended Yokohama National University, Faculty of Business Administration, where I mainly studied data analysis and business. During my studies, I also experienced studying abroad in Vietnam and being dispatched to Germany, actively engaging in international activities. Within that context, the desire to further develop Japanese traditions arose, leading me to where I am today.

Off the Clock
What do you enjoy doing outside of work, and do you have any favorite places you often visit?
My hobby is camping. My hometown, Ome City in Tokyo, is located upstream of the Tama River, and a very beautiful river flows through it. On weekends, I often pitch my tent on the riverbank and spend my time relaxing. In the summer, I swim in the river, and in the winter, I sit around a bonfire, relaxing in nature. Spending time surrounded by nature is a great way for me to refresh myself.
