The Path Here
Could you tell us about your career so far and why you decided to join TAIMATSU?
After graduating with a degree in fashion design from an art university, I began my career in the vintage industry. Since then, I've gained cross-functional experience across various roles in apparel manufacturing and retail, including planning and sales, production management, public relations, and brand management. Working in lean, fast-paced environments that demanded constant multitasking, I developed a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving and honed my negotiation skills to find optimal solutions among stakeholders. Determined to apply my skills in a new industry, I serendipitously discovered TAIMATSU, a company where my long-standing interests in "monozukuri" (craftsmanship/manufacturing) and languages converge, leading me to my current role.
Leading the Day
What kinds of decisions and responsibilities do you take on as a manager on a daily basis?

My responsibilities span the entire spectrum of HR and general affairs, from recruitment and labor management to fostering a positive internal environment. As this role underpins the organization's foundation, my responsibilities are diverse and often extend beyond clearly defined boundaries. Consequently, I always strive to maintain a multifaceted perspective and objectivity in my daily decision-making. What I particularly value is striking a balance between the ability to foresee the on-the-ground impact of any decision and maintaining a company-wide perspective to ensure organizational health. My aim is to always maintain a neutral stance, guiding both the company and its employees toward the most optimal outcome.

View from Both Sides
What differences or insights have you noticed between on-site work and management?
I started in HR and General Affairs with no prior experience in that specific role, and my joining coincided with the launch of the back office. This meant I was constantly experimenting and problem-solving to address new challenges every day. Initially, I was driven by the strong urge to establish something concrete. My focus was on how much I could accomplish individually, how deeply I could commit to critical situations, and the extent to which I could create value by myself.
Since becoming a manager, my perspective has gradually shifted. Instead of tackling problems alone, I now focus on understanding each team member's strengths and personalities, and how to best combine them to maximize organizational value. While I'm still very much learning the ropes of management and have much to improve, I feel my perspective is gradually broadening, moving from focusing on individual achievements to generating value as an organization.
Defining Moments
What has been the most impactful project or decision you have been involved in?

For me, diving into a rapid growth phase with no prior experience, supporting the organization from the back office meant every day brought a continuous stream of impactful moments. I believe that rather than any single grand gesture, our current back-office structure is the result of continuously seeking the optimal solution for each situation and accumulating countless small decisions.
Growing as a Leader
What do you feel has been your greatest growth as a leader?

A key area of growth for me is that I've learned to organize the problem-solving process, even when faced with unexpected problems or unprecedented situations, by asking myself, "How should I tackle this?" In the past, I often felt overwhelmed by immediate challenges, but now I first break down the situation bit by bit and can construct a clear path to resolution.
Another significant area of growth, stemming from exposure to diverse perspectives, is my ability to imagine the potential impact a particular choice might have on those around me.

Looking Ahead
What challenges or goals would you like to take on at TAIMATSU in the future?
Because our organization brings together members from diverse backgrounds worldwide, we aim to create a workplace where everyone feels truly glad to have joined TAIMATSU. As we pursue the ambitious goal of an IPO, we are dedicated to establishing a clean and reliable back office to support our employees.
If You're Thinking of Joining
What message would you like to share with people considering joining the company?

TAIMATSU is a uniquely energetic and diverse organization, experiencing overwhelming growth. The opportunity to witness the company's evolution firsthand offers an unparalleled and invaluable excitement. While challenges will undoubtedly arise, these experiences will contribute to an incredibly valuable time. Embrace and enjoy the unique opportunities this phase presents.
Beyond the Role
Could you tell us about your background and where you are from?

A native of Gunma Prefecture. My passion for music, film, theater, and costume design began during my school years, and in high school, I dedicated myself to musicals through club activities. I always harbored a vague ambition to attend an art university, which I eventually did, specializing in fashion design. During my studies, I encountered significant challenges in the creative field, where a keen sense of aesthetics is paramount. I learned that passion alone wasn't enough to overcome these hurdles, and while I struggled at times, it was through these experiences that I discovered my true aptitude. Subsequently, I gained diverse experience as a professional in the apparel industry.

Off the Clock
What do you enjoy doing outside of work, and do you have any favorite places you often visit?
My favorite thing is watching movies. If I don't have plans on my days off, I sometimes spend the entire day watching films. I enjoy a wide range of movies regardless of genre or country of origin, but I'm particularly drawn to classic works. When I go to the cinema, you'll usually find me at Grand Cinema Sunshine, UPLINK Kichijoji, or TOHO Cinemas Hibiya.
